Welcome to the Spark Ignite Your Marketing, the podcast where purpose driven solopreneurs come for real stories, lots of laughter, a few tears. And simple steps to make marketing feel doable and true to who they are. I'm your host, Beverly Cornell. And today I am talking about something that's not only good for your business, but also good for the soul showing gratefulness in your service based business, especially during the Thanksgiving season. Thanksgiving is a time here in the United States to pause and reflect on what we're grateful for. It's the perfect opportunity to extend that gratitude to our clients, to our team members, and the community that supports our business. But here's the thing, gratitude shouldn't be limited to just one season. It's a practice we can integrate into our businesses all year long, helping us build stronger, more meaningful relationships with those who make our business possible. Plus, When we focus on gratitude, our life becomes way more amazing. Today I'm going to share with you five impactful ways to show your appreciation this Thanksgiving and next year. There's something incredibly powerful about a handwritten thank you note. In today's digital world, receiving a handwritten card can feel like a breath of fresh air. Imagine walking out to your mailbox, opening it up, and seeing that handwritten card amongst it. Magazine, bills, and all the things you quickly go to that first, ripping it open and looking to see who it's from and what the message says for you. A thank you note is so incredibly simple, but it's a very personal touch that can make your clients and team members feel so extremely valued. It's not about the fancy wording or expensive stationery. I actually have, I think, horrible handwriting. It's not about that. It's about the time and the effort that you put in to show someone that they matter to you and to your business. Set aside some time to write personalized notes to your top clients, loyal customers, and dedicated team members. Reflect on the ways they've contributed to your business and mention specific actions or stories or qualities that you appreciate. Drop these notes in the mail about a week before Thanksgiving for them to receive. as an extra special surprise this holiday season. With so many businesses operating remotely, like ours, it might not be feasible to have an in person gathering, but that doesn't mean you can't connect and celebrate the season with your team and clients. Hosting a virtual Thanksgiving gathering shows that you value your relationships beyond business transactions. It's about fostering a sense of community and gratitude among your team, your clients, and your community. Consider hosting a virtual coffee hour or happy hour, or even a full blown Thanksgiving dinner where you all share what you're thankful for this year. Send out a few goodies in advance, like a pumpkin pie kit or some cozy Thanksgiving socks to make the event feel even more festive and connected to the theme. This Thanksgiving, you want to take some time to reflect on the success stories of your clients. Publicly acknowledging their achievements not only shows that you're invested in their success, but also boosts their confidence and solidifies your relationship. I am. Such a cheerleader. And I'm so much rooting for my clients. I want them to succeed so incredibly bad. I believe in them sometimes far more than they believe in themselves. And just talking about their successes, the steps that they've made forward for their business and highlighted that their courage and their ability to be unique and authentically them tells them that they're special. When you showcase your client's successes, you're not just Promoting your business. You're helping them shine. It's a way to say we're proud of you and we're grateful to be part of your journey. You can create a social media campaign or a blog post series where you highlight the achievements of your clients. You can share their stories, their results, and how your services have contributed to their success. Tag them in the posts and encourage your audience to celebrate with you. It's a win win for everyone. And honestly, don't we need more success stories in the world, more positive, good juju out there. Thanksgiving is also a time to reflect on how we give back to the communities and with which we live and we have businesses in these are the people that support us and we support them. There are causes that matter. There's so many things involved in our community by letting our businesses with that cause. You're not only. You not only show gratitude, but you also make a meaningful impact. So many of our clients are all about bringing more kindness, more joy, more fun, more wellness to the world and aligning with something in the community and. We'll only magnify that impact even further. Giving back enhances your business's reputation and strengthens your ties with the community. It also shows your clients and team members that your businesses stand out for something greater than just profit. You can organize a charitable event or a donation drive where your team and clients can participate, whether it's collecting canned goods for a local food bank or donating a percentage of your November sales to a charity, make it a community effort. Invite your clients to join you in this initiative and share the impact that you're making together. Lastly, let's talk about giving a little something extra. Offering a special deal or a bonus to your clients around Thanksgiving is a practical way to show your gratitude. It's a tangible way to say thank you for choosing us. We know you have a lot of choices. Whether it's a discount or an added service or an exclusive offer, it's a gesture that can strengthen client loyalty and encourage future business and encourage future business. This could be something as simple as offering 10 percent discount on services booked during a specific timeframe, maybe Thanksgiving week or all of November, or adding a complimentary service for your loyal clients. Frame it as a Thanksgiving to you and let your clients know you appreciate their business. I know for a fact that Amazon and Walmart are not doing those kinds of things. So this is really where, where small town businesses, mom and pop businesses can differentiate themselves. So as you wrap up this episode, remember that showing gratitude isn't just about a holiday. It's about building stronger, more meaningful relationships with those who make your business possible. I just want to take a moment to thank our listeners who spend time with us every week, every download, allow me to be part of their days. I just so appreciate you and I have such good intentions for when I create shows that are going to help you. And I hope you know that, like, I, I really want to cheer you on and root you on as well. I want to thank my clients for letting us be part of their journey, for letting us be See their bravery, see the messiness of it all, go behind the scenes, but also help them create more meaningful and magnify their impact in the world. They're all doing such really cool things, whether it's accounting, but making it more fun, or art therapy to help us heal. We have some amazing people. Clients who are doing incredible work. I want to thank Michelle. I don't think she gets enough shout outs. She helps edit this particular podcast. She does amazing. She takes what we do. She edits it, makes it look pretty every single episode. So Michelle, you're a rockstar and I couldn't do this without you. And lastly, my entire team, they are so incredibly dedicated to their clients, making sure that their marketing, their messaging, their voice, the most impact and resonates with their clients, customers. I am so blessed to be able to do what I do. I am so incredibly honored to be able to be in the position that I am in.
