Welcome to another episode of the Spark Ignite Your Marketing I'm your host, Beverly Cornell, founder and reputation and growth strategist at BC Associates Marketing. And today we are exploring an incredible tool that can revolutionize your service based business Podcasting. If you've ever wondered how to connect more deeply with your audience and showcase your expertise, this episode is just what you need. And stick around because I've got a special download for you at the end that will make starting your podcast even easier. Here's a stat to get you thinking. There are over 2 million active podcasts out there with more than 48 million episodes available. Podcasting isn't just a passing trend. It's a powerful way to reach and engage your audience. For service based businesses, it could be the perfect medium to set yourself apart and build lasting relationships. So what exactly is podcasting? In simple terms, a podcast is a series of spoken word episodes that focus on a specific topic or theme. These episodes are available for streaming or download, making them accessible anytime, anywhere. For service based businesses, podcasting is an opportunity to share your knowledge, demonstrate your expertise, and build trust with your audience. Whether you're a coach, consultant, or run a specialized service, podcasting gives you a platform to speak directly, to your clients in a personal and extremely authentic way. Let's dive into why you should consider starting a podcast for your business. Consistently sharing valuable insights to your podcast can position you as a leader in your field, helping to attract new clients who trust your expertise. Can deepen relationships. Podcasting is pretty intimate. We're literally whispering in your ear. Your voice helps to build a personal connection with your listeners, fostering familiarity and loyalty that can translate into long term client relationships. It expands your reach. Podcasts can be accessed globally, allowing you to reach potential clients beyond your immediate geographic area. Plus, they're easily shareable, helping your content spread through word of mouth. And now, with the power of video podcasting, the reach is even further. And even more deep because they can see your face. It's cost effective marketing. Starting a podcast doesn't require a massive investment. With some basic equipment and a bit of know how, you can produce high quality episodes that resonate with your audience. And you can repurpose this content. Your podcast content can be repurposed across other channels. You can turn episodes into blog posts, social media snippets, or even an ebook, maximizing your content's impact. We also work a little bit backwards. We write our blog posts and create episodes off of that, or in a client interaction, if there's an FAQ or something. We'll create content based on that. If you're excited about the possibilities, here's a quick guide to get you started. First, you want to make sure you define the purpose and audience of your podcast. Clarify what you want to achieve with your podcast and who it's for. This will help you create content that resonates directly with them. It makes them feel like the content is just for them. You want to choose a format. Decide whether you're going to do a solo episode like this one, interviews like the other one that I do every week. Or a mix like what I do, your format should align with your goals and be something you can consistently produce. We produce one interview per week and one solo episode per week. And that is enough for us, but there are people who do a way more and do way less. So it's really have to find that happy medium for you and what you can do. You want to invest in equipment. Good audio quality is key. You'll want a microphone, you'll want a headphone, and you'll want that editing software. Don't worry, I've included links to some of my favorite gear in the download that you can get in the show notes. You want to make sure you plan your content. Create a content calendar and outline your first few episodes. This will help you stay organized and consistent. We actually have a folder on Google Drive. We put all of our interview docs in there, all of our solo episodes in there. Everything is organized and we even have a spreadsheet where we have all of our interviews, the topics, so we can pull from those later if we need to. You want to make sure you publish it and promote it. Once your episode is ready, choose a hosting platform and submit your podcast to directories like Apple Podcasts and Spotify. Promote your episodes across all your channels to maximize your reach. To help you take action, I put together a free download, Podcasting Basics, a quick start guide for service based businesses. Whether you're just starting out or need a bit of push to get going, this guide is designed to give you the tools you need to launch your very own podcast with a little bit of confidence. Thank you for joining me today on the Sparking Night Your Marketing Podcast. I hope this episode has inspired you to consider podcasting as a valuable tool for your business. Don't forget to grab your free download in the show notes. As always, if you have any questions or need help getting started, feel free to reach out. I'm here to help you spark and ignite your marketing journey. So until next time, keep sparking and igniting your path to success.
