Welcome to today's episode on the Spark and Ignite Your Marketing Podcast. I'm your host, Beverly Cornell, and we're going to explore why email marketing is one If not the most powerful tools you can use to grow your service based business, whether you're running a consulting firm, a fitness studio, or any service oriented business, email marketing can help you build stronger client relationships, keep your brand top of mind and drive consistent growth for your business. So let's dive in. Let's start by answering a common question. Is email marketing still relevant today? The answer is a absolute must have resounding yes. Despite the rise of social media and other digital channels, email remains a direct and personal communication and a way to communicate with your audience that is unlike any other tool out there. There's a couple of reasons why social media is a leased space, meaning you do not own your fans or your followers. Social media does. For example, if you were to get hacked, or if Facebook was to go down, or maybe Instagram shut your account down, you would lose all of your fans and all ways to communicate with them. But if you own your email list and you've strategically built it, it's yours no matter what. So you can continue to talk to them. It goes right to their inbox. It's a very direct way to continue to grow your relationship with your clients or customers. So email gives you the ability to reach your clients directly without relying on any other tool like social media algorithms. When you send an email. It lands right in their inbox, offering a personalized space just for your message. Email marketing has been shown to deliver an impressive ROI, return on investment. In fact, studies show you can earn up to 42 for every single dollar you spend on email marketing. That's a pretty rockin return, especially for service based businesses that rely on building and maintaining client relationships. Unlike one time advertising, just one time, one time ad or one time post, email marketing helps you maintain ongoing communications with your clients. Whether you're sending out newsletters. Updates or special offers. Email keeps your business at the forefront of your customers minds. Now, let's talk about why email marketing is particularly powerful for service based businesses. When you're offering a service, The relationship that you build with your clients is key. You're not just making a sale. You're cultivating trust and providing ongoing value, which increases your long term value of every single customer you do business with. And we all know to get a new customer is far more expensive than to have a customer provide repeat business for you. So here's how email marketing supports this. It is a relationship building tool. Service based businesses thrive on Relationships and with email marketing, you can nurture these relationships by consistently providing valuable content that addresses your client's specifics, needs and interests when you have products or services that relate to those needs. You are problem solving for your client. Email is a great tool for introducing clients to additional services that they might not be aware of. So they can buy one thing. But for example, if you're a fitness coach, you can use email to offer personalized training plans or nutrition guides to your existing clients of other services. Email allows you to stay connected with your clients between service appointments. This could be through useful tips, industry insights, or simply a friendly check in. Regular communication helps you maintain a strong connection and keeps your business top of mind. To illustrate the impact of email marketing, let's look at a couple of very real world examples. A local fitness studio used email marketing to stay in touch with clients during the pandemic. They sent out weekly workout routines, healthy recipes, and motivational content during that time. And as a result, when they were able to reopen, they saw a 30 percent increase in bookings compared to before the pandemic. The key was consistent value driven communications that kept clients engaged even when they couldn't visit in person. They were constantly nurturing that relationship, so when the time came, it was a no brainer. Another example would be one of our clients is a freelance graphic designer, and they regularly send out a monthly newsletter featuring recent projects. Some design tips and exclusive discounts. By keeping in touch with the past clients they've had that used them for maybe a logo or something, they turned one time projects into repeat business because they saw other ways that clients were using them. It gave them ideas and ways that they could use them as well. This newsletter not only showcased their expertise, but also kept their services top of mind for clients who might need them in the future. As we wrap up, remember that email marketing is much more than a promotional tool. It's about building lasting relationships, providing consistent value, and keeping your clients engaged with your brand. Whether you're a consultant, a local service provider, or a freelancer, email marketing can help you strengthen your business and foster the long term value of your customers, which equals long term growth for your business. so much for tuning in to today's episode of the Spark Ignite Your Marketing podcast.
